Estate Planning
As part of the Estate Planning, we work with individuals and couples to prepare their Will and Powers of Attorney for property and personal care.
- Will: “A person's will is a written document that sets out the person's wishes about how his or her estate should be taken care of and distributed after death.” (Ministry of the Attorney General)
- Power of Attorney: “A Power of Attorney is a legal document that gives someone else the right to act on your behalf.” (Ministry of the Attorney General)
Estate Administration
- Have you considered the role that an Estate Trustee assumes following the death of a loved one? Let us help you meet those obligations. We provide friendly professional service in a comfortable atmosphere.
- We help with the management and settlement of an Estate, whether testate or intestate, including the collection of the deceased’s assets; payment of debts and claims against him/her and expenses and distributing the remainder of the Estate among those entitled thereto.
- As part of the Estate Administration, we also work with family members to obtain information necessary to apply for the Certificate of Appointment as Estate Trustee.
- Certificate of Appointment: “A certificate of appointment of estate trustee with a will is a document issued by the court that proves the authority of the estate trustee (formerly called an executor) to administer the provisions of the deceased's will.” (Ministry of the Attorney General)
